Always Dream?
We believe in the power of dreams and in ensuring every child has the opportunity to pursue theirs. Through our Always Reading program, Always Dream partners with schools and families to help children build strong literacy skills and a lifelong love of reading.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity of our community to make this work possible. Every gift helps provide the staff, training, technology, books, and resources needed to serve more than 7,500 students and their family members across Hawaiʻi and Northern California this school year.
Together, we are strengthening family engagement, fostering a love of reading, and equipping children and their caregivers with the tools and confidence to learn, grow, and dream together.

Please include your name, mailing address, email, and phone number so we can provide you with a tax receipt. Book Drives and In Kind Donations
Our Always Reading program primarily focuses on teaching families to read at home together using a tablet and a digital children’s library. This provides the most access and choice for our students to get them interested in reading and learning!
We do also provide students with a selection of hard copy books to help them build their home library. This list is curated specifically by literacy experts on our program team, so we unfortunately are not in great need of donations of children’s books.

Vehicle Donation
Kristi Yamaguchi’s Always Dream invites you to donate your vehicle in support of our organization. We’ve partnered with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) to make this process as simple as possible for you. Vehicles can be picked up anywhere across the continental United States and in Hawaiʻi on Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island.
How to Donate:
- Complete the online Auto Donation Form.
- A representative from CARS will verify your donation and pick-up information by email. Once verified, they will schedule a pick-up time convenient to you.
- You will receive an initial donation receipt from the tow driver at the time of the vehicle pick-up. This initial acknowledgment will indicate your name as well as the year, make, model and condition of the donated vehicle.
- You will then be mailed a thank-you letter, which serves as a tax receipt, within 30 days of the sale of the vehicle.
