Josie Loaiza

As a South Central LA native, Josie has dedicated her career to advancing educational equity. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State University and a Graduate degree in Equity and Social Justice in Education from San Francisco State University.

Since 2016, Josie has worked with first-generation, low-income students and families in roles such as Literacy Tutor, Success Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Tutoring Site Coordinator, and Family Literacy Book Coach. She has worked with organizations such as the Educational Opportunity Program, Americorps, ReInvent Schools, and Reading Partners. Currently, she is the Program Operations and Data Manager at Kristi Yamaguchi’s Always Dream, promoting equitable access to early literacy education.
