Larae Balag

Larae has dedicated more than 25 years to the field of early childhood education, supporting young children, families, educators, and early learning programs throughout Maui County. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Transitional Leadership, and
her experience spans teaching, program leadership, Early Head Start, coaching, and family engagement. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to creating meaningful learning experiences that help children build confidence, curiosity, and a
strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Larae believes some of the most powerful learning happens in everyday moments shared between children and the caring adults in their lives. She is especially passionate about helping families and educators recognize how books, conversation, play, and positive relationships can support a child’s development and foster a lasting love of learning.

A lifelong learner herself, Larae enjoys sharing resources, mentoring educators, and finding creative ways to make learning engaging, meaningful, and accessible for young children and their families.
